A plea to the new Sisqo.

Rap lyrics over techno beats annoy me. Seeing Lady Gaga dance raises my blood pressure. Dub-step gives me a migraine, and the worship of Charlie Sheen as a demi-God has left me flaccid for well over two weeks (yes...flaccid). This is not a mental breakdown, merely an introduction into the spring season. Nonsense and tom-foolery have invaded my senses, yet thanks to an intense workout regimen and twisted tea, I had been able to maintain a strong mental state. That was until Chris Brown re-appeared in my life. Chris, I realize I may have over-stepped my bounds in writing about you the first time (not that you are likely to ever read it). I didn't criticize you for your “handling” of the female gender. To be fair, I was more critical of your selfishness as it relates to black men everywhere who wanted to see your happy ass on a lunch-box. It has since dawned on me that I may have reached a bit in my critique of you. After all, who am I to say anything negative about you? At the age of twenty-one you have amassed more money than I have ever seen in my entire life, been able to say “like” every third word when speaking and get away with it, and have had sex with more beautiful women than I could ever imagine in my wildest dreams. That is why I find myself in utter shock that you have, once again, brought such emotion up from within me that I had to put it in print. While I may have been too harsh on you before, I am quite certain that I have hit pay-dirt this time. In the words of my good friend Timothy M. Davis: “Fuck is up with yo hair nigga?”

Quite right: 'Fuck is up with yo hair nigga?' indeed. I have stared at this picture for a good long while and find myself at a loss. Have you forgotten the lessons of the late Sisqo from Dru-Hill (Yes Sisqo still is alive but his career 'passed on' long ago)? His is a story of forgiveness, Christopher. The people will forgive you for the women beating. They will forgive you for being in-articulate. They will forgive you for flipping out on a national TV show, getting into a verbal confrontation with the show's producer, trashing the dressing room, and walking out of the building shirtless and confused. Mind boggling, yes, but they will forgive you. Sure you will have the title of “black rage” in front of your name for the next 15 years (and that means no Asian fucky-fucky for you), but redemption in the eyes of many was right around the corner for you, young Christopher. And then...you go and dye your hair blonde. You just dyed it blonde...no thong song or nothing. You couldn't even give the people a damn thong song, Christopher? Sisqo at least had the good decency to give us the thong song, young sir (and don't you dare try and count Deuces). Sisqo understood that if he was to dye his hair blonde that he better make damn sure to give the public a song that would make his hair color seem endearing as opposed to downright shameful. However, it would appear that this is simply not how Chris Brown conducts business and to that end...fine.

The blonde hair with the skinny bird chest and the tattoos is not a good look, but do as you like. I do wish that your actions did not reflect so negatively on other black men. To be fair, this is not your fault. This is more a societal issue that shows little sign of slowing down. As long as brothas have no quarrel over going to jail over some “nigga shit”, this trend will continue uninterrupted. Chris, I don't know if you will ever reach the mountain top again. One can be quite certain that the money will continue to flow and to some degree the women will continue to come (the broads always do). Your supporters will label you as a “misunderstood artist” who has “paid his debt to society.” I do side with the latter statement more so than the former. What is done is done as it relates to your legal issues with that fine Barbadian beauty. Should that continue to be the defining moment of your life? No. Should a woman who ever chooses to get into any type of physical encounter with you forget what you are capable of? No, it would not be in their best interest to have such a fragmented memory. While all of your fans may clamor to your defense over your recent choices, I am going to very interested to hear what possible defense they could have for your blonde hair (Remember people, we did not get our Thong Song).

No...Sisqo did not.
